Crossings reflects Alex’s 26-year photographic photographic obsession with the U.S.-Mexico Border. The book explores the odd, often surreal land of the border, a 2000-mile-long, 15 miles wide region that is neither the United States nor Mexico, but a land between. It is, as Alberto Alvaro Rios has said, a place “both where two countries meet as well as how two countries meet, and the hand shake is rough.”
